Landscapes

I find there’s nothing more exhilarating than pulling on my walking boots and heading out into wide open spaces. The Peak District and the North Yorkshire Dales and Moors hold an extra-special place in my heart. Further afield I feel at home in the desert.

Personally for me I have no doubt that walking in the countryside and purposefully slowing down to observe closely with a camera brings significant benefits not only for physical health but essentially for mental well-being. I’m a firm believer in getting out there regardless of time of day and don’t get hung up about the light. Yes dawn and sunset are breathtaking but don’t use that as an excuse not to get out there at other times!

The trees here in the mist in the Peak District inspired my Tree Project 2020. And yes it is midday and it filled me with incredible joy to watch the mist drift across the valley.
